Monthly Activities:

NEW! Breakfast on 5th

(formerly Breakfast at the River) is now at the Senior Center! Enjoy a hot breakfast catered by Gustavus Dining Services as you listen to a variety of speakers.  $8, Tuesdays, 8:30—10:30 a.m.

(Please note, you must register and prepay before the deadline. Register at Community and Family Education, SPCC Rm. 207, or by calling 934-3048).

Tue., Mar. 27 - First National Bank Minnesota will be presenting an informative program on Elder Abuse.

Register and pay $8 by Mar.19.

 

Tue., Apr. 25 - George Rohrich, CEO for River’s Edge Hospital & Clinic

Register and pay $8 by Apr. 16.

 

Buffet Lunch at Gustavus

2nd Wednesday of the month from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  $6.75 payable at GAC. No registration necessary. Before or after your great lunch, visit the Bookmark for discounts.  Sponsored by the Senior Center, GAC Bookmark and the GAC Dining Service.

1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month; $25 payable at the appointment.

Card Games at the Senior Center

  

Cribbage - Mondays at 1:00 p.m.

Men’s Cards - Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.

Medicare/Insurance Counseling Help – 1st Thursday of each month

From 2:30–4:00 p.m. come to the senior center for information and one-on-one assistance on Medicare and insurance questions. No appointment needed. No charge. Sponsored by MN River Area on Aging.

 

Bi-Monthly Newsletter

The Senior Center distributes a monthly newsletter. If you would like to be on the mailing list, please call (507) 934-0667
 

P.A.L.S. (Partners in Active Living for Seniors) - exercise classes designed for older adults               

  • Sessions run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-11 a.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room 310A at the St. Peter Community Center. Sessions run 5-6 weeks.

  • $25 per person payable to City of Saint Peter. Register and pay at the Recreation Office in the Community Center. Questions? Call 934-0667 or 934-7434.

Senior Citizen Community Programs: 

Senior Nutrition Program

Senior Dining is located at Park View Manor, 1010 South 4th Street at 11:45 am. Anyone over 60 years of age and/or spouse is invited to make a contribution. Suggested contribution guideline is $2.50 - $3.50. Reservations must be made a day in advance by calling (507) 931-8007 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Transportation is available if needed.

Meals on Wheels Program

Meals are available to people 60 years of age or older for a contribution. Suggested contribution guideline is $2.50 - $3.50. Call Rosie at Parkview Manor, 934-8850, between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to schedule a meal.

Nicollet County Senior Transportation & Senior Programs

Rides are provided to those in need of transportation to medical appointments. Call 934-7227, at least two days prior to needing a ride, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon, Monday through Friday. Donations are accepted for this service which is supported in part by the Greater Mankato Area United Way.

Mature Driving/AARP Driver's Safety

NAPS (Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors)

Call 1-800-365-0270 to prequalify. Pick up the food at the Senior Center on the first Thursday of each month from 3 to 4 p.m.

High School Activity Passes

Passes for Saint Peter Public School activities are available at any high school events admission desk and/or the St. Peter Community Education office in the Community Center. These passes are for home games only (hockey games not included). Persons 65 years or older are eligible.
