MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

JUNE 15, 2015

 

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Saint Peter was conducted in the Meeting Room of the Public Library on June 15, 2015.

A quorum present, Mayor Strand called the meeting to order at 6:53 p.m.  The following members were present:  Councilmembers Zieman, Parras, Carlin, Grams, Brand, Kvamme and Mayor Strand. The following officials were present: City Administrator Prafke, City Attorney Brandt, and Special City Attorneys from Greene Espel PLLP Sybil Dunlop and Kathryn Hibbard.

Closed Session:  Attorney-Client Privilege –  City Administrator Prafke requested a closed session as allowed for under Minnesota Statute 13D.05, Subdivision 3(b) attorney-client privilege discussion.  In motion by Parras, seconded by Brand, Resolution No. 2015-84 entitled “Resolution Calling For Closed Session”, was introduced.  Upon roll call, with all in favor, the Resolution was declared passed and adopted.  A complete copy of Resolution No. 2015-84 is contained in the City Administrator’s book entitled Council Resolutions 20. 

The Council adjourned to closed session 6:54 p.m. to discuss issues covered under attorney-client privilege. The Council returned to open session at 7:24 p.m.

Green Valley Lawsuit Settlement – City Administrator Prafke recommended approval of a proposed settlement in the case Green Valley, LLC versus City of Saint Peter.  In motion by Zieman, seconded by Brand, Resolution No. 2015-85 entitled, “Resolution Accepting Settlement Agreement In Lawsuit Between Green Valley LLP And City Of Saint Peter“, was introduced.  Upon roll call, with all in favor, the Resolution was declared passed and adopted.  A complete copy of Resolution No. 2015-85 is contained in the City Administrator’s book entitled Council Resolutions 20.

There being no further business, a motion was made by Kvamme, seconded by Brand, to adjourn.  With all in favor, the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
